For the third year in succession Fairhurst entered a team in the Wigan Youth Zone bike ride to Blackpool. On a on a blustery day John Fairhurst, Patrick Morris and Hannah Rutter joined over 75 volunteers, supporters and young people for the 50 mile journey from Wigan to Blackpool. The aim was to raise over £5,000 in donations for the privately funded Wigan Youth Zone, which has just celebrated it’s 1st anniversary. With over 6,000 members, in May alone it had 6,500 visits from young people (aged 12-18) who otherwise may not have had “somewhere to go, something to do, or someone to talk to”
